Demographer Delivers Keynote Address in Pakistan

DECEMBER 10, 2012 - A demographer and Georgetown University faculty member delivered the keynote address for the Population Association of Pakistan.

John May, PhD, adjunct assistant professor of international health, spoke about "Population Policies: New Directions" at the event, which was the 13th annual population research conference, held Nov. 7-8, 2012, in Karachi.

The conference focused on, "Population Well-Being: A Development Imperative."

May is well known in his field and published the book World Population Policies: Their Origin, Evolution, and Impact (Springer, 2012).  He is also a visiting fellow with the Center for Global Development.

The book recently won the best book award from the Population Institute and was reviewed by The Economist.
