July 29, 2019 - Dr. Molly Skifstad (G’20), a student in the Executive Master of Science in Health Systems Administration Program at the School of Nursing & Health Studies, has received the Foster G. McGaw Graduate Student Scholarship.
The scholarship, totaling $5,000, is awarded by the Foundation of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
“The [foundation] established this scholarship in honor of Foster G. McGaw, the founder of the American Hospital Supply Corporation,” according to the organization’s website. “This scholarship is offered to provide financial aid to students in healthcare management graduate programs to help offset tuition costs, student loans and expenses.”
Skifstad, who holds a doctor of pharmacy degree, says she is “very honored to receive the Foster G. McGaw Scholarship and grateful to the Foundation of American College of Healthcare Executives.”
About 48,000 individuals are members of ACHE, which aims “to be the preeminent professional society for healthcare executives dedicated to improving health.”
Looking ahead, Skifstad says she will apply what she has learned at Georgetown to better health and well-being.
“The EMHSA Program has truly expanded my knowledge and understanding of the health care field,” she says, adding that her education will support her goal of improving “health care for patients we serve.”
