“The mission of the NONPF is to provide leadership in promoting quality nurse practitioner education,” according to the organization. “The vision is to be the preeminent global leader in providing timely and critical resources for NP educators.”

Dr. Mary Beth Bigley, the organization’s CEO, invited Biernacki to this committee, which serves in an advisory capacity related to best practices and innovations in curriculum and pedagogy.

“This committee advises NONPF on quality curricular design, new and emerging curricula, NP program and educational guidelines development, and competency development, revision and validation, she said “The products and work from this committee have been outstanding, and I look forward to working with you to continue developing and providing resources to our members.”

Piernacki directs Georgetown’s largest advanced practice specialty program, and, in addition to the Family Nurse Practitioner Program she leads, the School of Nursing & Health Studies also educates adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioners and women’s health nurse practitioners.

“I am honored and excited to serve on NONPF’s Curricular Leadership Committee and continue their good work in developing expert guidelines and resources for NP programs, who are providing excellent education for our country’s future nurse practitioners,” Biernacki said.
