The Office of Research Support and Administration (ORSA) partners with faculty and provides them with critical research support services, thereby alleviating much of their administrative burden.

This partnership affords faculty more time to generate an increased number of proposals. Further, the research infrastructure offers information to researchers in one centralized location, accessible through technology-driven methods such as this Web site.

Specifically, ORSA staff assist researchers in:

  • Developing proposals and planning budgets
  • Creating budget justifications
  • Providing appropriate and relevant boilerplates
  • Setting timelines for proposal submission
  • Submitting proposals to Sponsored Research on behalf of faculty for review and signature
  • Preparing online proposal submissions, which are quickly becoming mandatory for many federal programs
  • Establishing subcontract and independent contractor agreements
  • Handling invoicing and billing
  • Human resource needs
  • Financial status reports
  • Drafting and submitting progress reports
  • Monthly budget meetings and budget reports pertaining to awards
