What is unique about Georgetown that drew you to the University?
I think what sets Georgetown apart from other schools is the multitude
of opportunities available. Whether it is an internship, a student
group, a party, or a class, you can choose to tailor your college
experience however you like. It is very hard to find a class that
is not challenging, but it is also very hard to find a night with
nothing to do. Georgetown truly is the best of both worlds.
What aspects of NHS do you like the most?
I like the small nature of the NHS and also the applicability of
all of the classes. I constantly find that my peers are jealous
of the way that my classes have a lot of resonance with what I
want to do with my life. Sometimes it is a pain to have a class
that begins after 5 pm, but when you consider that your professor
has been at a job all day applying what he/she is going to be teaching
you, it makes it all worth it.
How has your college experience differed than
any of your high school friend’s college experiences?
I have found that my experience has differed from the experience
of my high school friends in a variety of ways. Academically, all
of what we learn is applicable in the ‘real world’ and
the classes are challenging but not cutthroat. Extracurricularly,
it has been remarkable because I have met some of the most capable
and driven volunteers and workers of my life. Socially, I think coming
to Georgetown gives you options on campus and within greater DC that
are simply not available on other campuses and in other cities. The
students, employees, and professors at Georgetown are all impressive
in their own right and it makes me appreciate Georgetown every day.
