Why did you want to come to Georgetown?
NHS is the main reason why I chose to come to Georgetown. After
looking at other schools, Georgetown just seemed to fit with everything
I wanted out of a school. Not only is Georgetown prestigious
academically, but I found that they really focus on ‘the whole
person’ rather than solely the academic arena. I
value the tight knit community feeling: every student has a personal
relationship with the professors and students that extend beyond
the classroom. Furthermore, I was impressed with the curricula
offered in NHS and was excited to use the equipment and technology
that is available for students.
What aspects of Georgetown and NHS do you like the most?
One of the best aspects of NHS is the direct access to research initiatives,
internships, and various opportunities related to health. One of
my favorite projects is the research project that a professor helped
me set up in Ghana. It gave me such an extensive and profound perspective
on the country and the people who live there, and allowed me to
discover myself in a whole new light. The experience was extremely
powerful and exceeded anything I would have thought I would ever
do in college.
Finally, to me, Georgetown is more than a University,
it is a family. Regardless
of where someone is from, what they are studying, or what activities
they are involved in, everyone seems to find their niche.
