Current Program: MS in Health Systems Administration Previous Degrees: University of Utah Hometown: Salt Lake City, Utah
Why did you choose to come to Georgetown?
I initially decided to apply based on Georgetown’s tradition
of academic excellence and location. To have the opportunity to study
at such a prestigious institution that is also located in the heart
of public policy has been invaluable to my education. I was, and
continue to be, astounded by the strong Jesuit tradition.
In what ways has Georgetown affected your career
goals?
The faculty has helped me gain the experience of working at Children’s
National Medical Center through a national fellowship program. This
has proved to strengthen my love for children and a desire to work
with them. Georgetown’s Jesuit tradition has strengthened my
desire to always retain ethical values in all areas of my life—especially
professionally.
How has the faculty contributed to your overall experience?
I have been treated as a peer by each and every one of the faculty
members in the program. I have been shown the theories needed
and the concerns facing the healthcare system today; the faculty
then has given each student the opportunity to think about what
they have been taught. This has allowed me to learn and grow.
What has been your most valuable experience here at Georgetown?
By far, the mentor program has been the most valuable experience
while here at Georgetown. Being matched up with a top executive
in the field today has great benefits and has proved to be very
rewarding.
