Conceptual Design Example 1

What is it?

• NHS Situation Room will be a technology-based teaching venue used to improve critical thinking, strategic planning, and leadership skills
  
  

Who will use it?

• NHS students from all four departments
  
  

How will it be used?

• Using faculty-developed case studies coupled with publicly available maps, charts, GIS, and health information, students will work through a variety of scenarios, including those below:
  • Crisis management (disaster strategy)
  • Epidemiological studies (Avian Flu outbreak)
  • Statistical analysis (policy impact on health outcomes)
  • Workforce planning (effect of boomers on health delivery)
