Georgetown faculty member Edilma L. Yearwood, PhD, PMHCNS, BC, FAAN, associate professor of nursing, is one of three editors of the textbook Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health: A Resource for Advanced Practice Psychiatric and Primary Care Practitioners in Nursing (Wiley-Blackwell, March 2012). The Department of Nursing includes faculty members with expertise in diverse academic and clinical areas of specialty.
Faculty members have been nationally recognized for teaching excellence, earned extramural funding for research and scholarship, entered the American Academy of Nursing as fellows, and garnered prestigious honors, such as a Fulbright Award.
Faculty advances and disseminates scientific knowledge through research, teaching, and scholarship. Departmental areas of interest include environmental health, clinical ethics, public health, the mental health of immigrant communities, clinical outcomes, nursing care, and maternal and child health.
