Georgetown-Fudan Partnership Includes Frank Wong, Ph.D., NHS

Georgetown University has signed a cooperative agreement with Fudan
University, one of the most prominent universities in China, to
support world class research, innovation in higher education, and
greater mutual understanding between the people of China and the
United States.
Several schools at Georgetown will be involved in the partnership.
Frank Wong, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of International
Health, will represent the School of Nursing & Health Studies
in the agreement. He will continue to work together with scholars
from Fudan’s School of Public Health to address the challenges
of HIV/AIDS.
Wong is an international expert in the epidemiology of HIV/AIDS,
has overseen a multimillion-dollar research portfolio with substantive
grant support from the National Institute on Drug Abuse and the National
Institute of Child Health and Human Development, and has offered
congressional testimony on related issues.

In related news, Wong has been invited to participate in The International
Seminar on Interventions of HIV/STDs Prevention in Hainan Province.
The event is co-sponsored by the Hainan Province CDC, the University
of Nebraska, and the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is also
speaking on HIV prevention targeting Chinese male migrants at the
Center for Epidemiology and Biostatistics of the School of Public
Health at Chinese University of Hong Kong.
