Taylor Participates in Ethics Seminar

Carol Taylor, Ph.D., assistant professor of nursing at Georgetown
University
School of Nursing & Health Studies and director of the university's
Center for
Clinical Bioethics, was one of 23 nurse scholars from across North
America who
gathered from April 25-27, 2007 for a seminar on, "Nursing and
Health Care Ethics: A
Legacy and a Vision."
The seminar, hosted by Creighton University's
Center for Health Policy and Ethics in Omaha, brought together pioneers
and noted scholars in the field of nursing ethics. The scholarly
work of these individuals serves today as the foundation for modern
nursing ethics.
The seminar's goal was to document the contributions of the nurse
ethicists in attendance and examine what future role their contributions
might play in health care ethics for nurses and other health care
professionals. An outcome of the conference will be an edited book
featuring contributions by the participants.
