Health
Systems, Nursing Grad Programs Rank Nationally
Several graduate
programs within the Department of Nursing and the Department of
Health Systems Administration at NHS were ranked nationally
in the latest "America's Best Graduate Schools" edition
of U.S. News & World Report, released Friday, March 30.
The Nurse
Anesthesia Program (NAP) ranked 6th, up from 10th in the previous
rankings. The Health Systems Administration Program, marking
its first time on the list, ranked 30th.
The Nurse Midwifery Program, which ranked 37th in 2003, came in
21st. Overall, the graduate program in nursing was ranked 32nd.
"The Nurse Anesthesia Program consistently ranks as one of the best
in the nation," said Donna M. Jasinski, Ph.D., NAP director. "Our
strong faculty and student body contribute to continued success.
We are grateful for this distinction."
"It is gratifying for a young program to achieve this recognition
in the first year of eligibility," added Gary L. Filerman,
Ph.D., chair of the Department of Health Systems Administration. "It
is clearly a reflection of a talented, committed, and energetic
faculty."
Carolyn Gegor directs the Nurse Midwifery Program.
Michael Relf, Ph.D., chairs the Department of Nursing.
