Wong Speaks on Men's Health Disparities

Tuesday, June 3, Frank Y. Wong, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department
of International Health at NHS, is taking part in the national videoconference, "Men’s
Health Disparities: Implications for Research and Intervention."
The panel discussion, sponsored by the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill's Program for Ethnicity, Culture, and Health Outcomes,
runs from 2-4 p.m., EDT, and can be viewed online.
Wong, an internationally known social psychologist, currently
serves as principal investigator on a $3 million R01 grant from
the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development of
the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Through the five-year federal grant, Wong is studying the prevalence
of HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted illnesses among Chinese migrants
and explore related psychological issues. He is working with colleagues
at Fudan University’s School of Public Health and the Shanghai
Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
