NHS Professor to Present Nationally, Globally

Yearwood, Ph.D., assistant professor of nursing at Georgetown University
School of Nursing & Health Studies, will make
three presentations this spring and summer in Kentucky, South
Carolina, and Germany.
The first, in April, will be at the 10th annual International
Society of Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurses conference in Louisville,
Ky. Yearwood will co-present findings from a national, collaborative
project that compared the practice patterns of advanced practice
nurses who treat children, adolescents, and families.
Then in May, she will be the keynote speaker at the South Carolina
Cross Cultural Healthcare Project. At the conference, entitled “Hispanic
Health in Times of Change: Challenges and Opportunities,” Yearwood
will address “Embarking on New Journeys: Exploration of Cultural
Competencies.”
Lastly, in July, Yearwood will attend the 29th International Congress
of Psychology in Berlin, Germany. While there, she will co-present
a paper on “Cultural Context of HIV/AIDS Reduction Strategies
with Caribbean Adolescents.”
