NHS Announces Next McAuley Lecture
NHS
will host Enrique Ruelas Barajas, M.D., as the
next keynote speaker in the school’s McAuley Lecture Series.
The title of his talk is, "Towards Quality and Safety in a
Health Care System Through a Country-Wide Strategy."
Ruelas
Barajas currently serves as secretary of the General Health Council
of Mexico. He formerly served as undersecretary of health
in Mexico, president of the International Society for Quality in
Health Care, president of the Mexican Hospital Association, and
dean of the National School of Public Health of Mexico. He has
authored and co-authored more than 60 articles on quality in health
care and management of health care systems.
The event is Tuesday,
March 25, at 5 p.m., in Copley Formal Lounge. RSVP to Natalie Grigorian
at ng97@georgetown.edu.
The latest McAuley Lecture is being hosted
by the Department of Health Systems Administration and the Department
of International
Health, both at NHS. The series covers topics related to health
and health care. It was made possible through a gift from Brian
and Jane McAuley—parents of Georgetown graduates Beth (C’98),
Mary (NHS’07), and Tricia (NHS’02).
