Professor Completes Paper On Cost, Transparency

Mark Legnini, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Health Systems Administration at NHS, has completed a commissioned paper on health care cost and price transparency for the National Quality Forum (NQF).

The paper is the foundation for NQF's initiatives in cost and price transparency and was funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The forum grew out of the 1998 President's Advisory Commission on Consumer Protection and Quality in the Health Care Industry and was created to develop and implement a national strategy for health care quality measurement and reporting.

Legnini will be continuing this project in December with a Web cast for the National Governors Association, a bipartisan organization of the nation's governors.
