NHS Professor On Long-Term Care
Robert Friedland, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of
Health Systems
Administration at NHS, will speak Monday, June 11, at a forum on
financing
long-term care.
The event—titled "Toward a More Efficient and Effective
Systems of Financing
Long-Terms Care and support by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation—is
part of the
Georgetown University Financing
Long-Term Care Project.
Friedland, who also holds an appointment at the Health Policy Institute
of the
Georgetown Public Policy Institute (GPPI), will moderate and present
during the
a session on, "Why the Current Public-Private Partnership Needs
to Change."
GPPI Dean Judy Feder is also participating in the event, which will
be held at
the Barbara Jordan Conference Center of the Kaiser Family Foundation
at 1330 G
St., NW.
The goal of the day-long session is to examine why current financing
options
need to be changed and to explore specific financing options developed
by a
diverse group of experts commissioned under the project. While there
is
currently a waiting list to attend the forum, Kaiser will Web cast
the session.
