Welcome from the Department Chair, Human Science

Charles H. Evans Jr., M.D., Ph.D.

As Chair of the Department of Human Science, I would like to welcome you to our Web site.

Our department provides a vibrant undergraduate science program that is designed for students who wish to apply the scientific discoveries in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics to human health.

Our vision is for our students to understand human physiological adaptation and health through complementary study of the liberal arts, including the humanities and sciences.

Our mission is to provide a leading education, to emphasize appreciation of diversity in human cultures, and to build critical thinking, communication, and investigative skills to empower our students to be leaders in health science. This four-year undergraduate biomedical curriculum prepares students for a variety of graduate programs such as medicine, dentistry, biomedical science, research, teaching, and administration.

Thank you for visiting us. Whether you are a prospective student or another interested party, we encourage you to learn more about us by exploring the other links available on this site, as well as coming to see us in person.

Sincerely,

Charles H. Evans Jr., M.D., Ph.D.
