On-Campus Exploration into the World of Health Science

Students in the Pathways to Success programA key feature of the Pathways to Success program is a 3-week annual on campus Summer Biomedical Science Institute. The primary objectives of the Summer Biomedical Science Institute program are: 1) to enhance the student's academic skills increasing college acceptance and retention in science majors; 2) spark enthusiasm and inspire hope for a future health-related career; 3) create a community network providing support for participants and others in the region.

Summer Biomedical Science Institute Features

  • Residential dormitory living
  • English preparation for college application essay
  • Cultural, athletic and sporting events
  • Distance-learning capabilities (Biomedical Virtual Laboratory)
  • Participation includes campus housing, meals, textbooks, and teaching materials.
  • Students must have a minimum 3.5GPA to apply
  • First year students will receive two college credits for their participation in the "Communicating Science Seminar" and "The Language of Health and Disease Laboratory"
  • Second year students will receive three college credits for their participation in "The Language of Health and Disease"
