The Executive Mentor Program
Every student in the graduate program is teamed with a
successful health care executive mentor for as long as they
are at
Georgetown.
Having an executive mentor provides direct and continuing contact
with an executive who is facing the challenge of management
every day.
The mentors advise on career interests, part-time
jobs, managing the job search, course related projects, etc.
The student and mentor meet soon after the student arrives
and then arrange to meet at least every two months thereafter.
Participants in the mentor program includes executives at
Washington Hospital Center, Georgetown University Hospital,
Georgetown Medical Group Practice, Sibley Long Term Care
Services, Laurel Hospital, Holy Cross Hospital , Lombardi
Comprehensive Cancer Center, Hospital for Sick Children Foundation,
Sibley Memorial Hospital, Laurel Regional Hospital, Health
Services for Children with Special Needs, and the Washington
Nursing Facility.
There is an EMP advisory committee that plans and evaluates
the program. It is chaired by Dr. Gary Filerman and
includes Linda Winger, vice president of the Georgetown University
Hospital (MSHA Oklahoma), Michael Sachtleben, executive director
of Georgetown Physicians Group (MHA, UNC) and Mark Pollard,
Administrator, Georgetown University Department of Surgery
(MHSA, Michigan).
