Information for Accelerated Second Degree BSN Candidates

WE ARE PLEASED to learn of your interest in the Georgetown University School of Nursing & Health Studies.

Please carefully read all guidelines below before proceeding on to the online application linked at the bottom of this page.

  • Please be aware that there are 12 prerequisite courses required for entry into the Accelerated Second Degree BSN program.

  • Application deadlines for the Accelerated Second Degree BSN program are as follows:
    • February 1 for Fall entry;
    • August 1 for Spring entry.

To receive full consideration, the following materials must be received by the appropriate deadline:

  • Online Application for Admission, including:
    • Statement of Purpose
    • Résumé / CV
    • Academic Recommendation
    • Professional Recommendation
    • Prerequisite course outline including plan for any remaining courses that are in-progress
    • Nonrefundable $65 application fee
      * Please note that all of the materials above are submitted electronically as part of the online application. Applicants are required to provide the email addresses of their recommenders. The system will send the recommenders instructions on submitting their letter of recommendation.

  • Official transcripts (unopened) from ALL college level work

    • All unopened official transcripts from all institutions of higher education attended should be mailed in ONE packet to:

  • Interview: Competitive applicants will be invited to interview. Details related to times, dates, and locations will be announced by the Admissions Committee.

  • Applicants are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) if their first language is not English. The test results must be submitted by the application deadline. Scores requirements are available on the FAQ webpage.

  • All transcripts from institutions outside of the U.S. must be evaluated by World Education Services. This course-by-course evaluation must be submitted as part of the application packet by the application deadline.
  • Please read additional information (PDF) about the program, including details on waivers, housing, and financial aid.

Carefully complete the application form thoroughly and accurately. It is your responsibility to see that all of the materials required by the Committee on Admissions are received in a timely manner. While we encourage you to communicate with the School of Nursing & Health Studies regarding your application, neither the Office of Undergraduate Admissions nor the School of Nursing & Health Studies can assume total responsibility to inform you about erroneous or missing materials. In order to be certain that your application is properly processed and a complete and accurate picture of your academic and personal accomplishments is presented to the Committee on Admissions, you are urged to make special note of all items mentioned above.
