Acute & Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist
The Acute & Critical Care
Clinical Nurse Specialist program prepares registered nurses to
improve outcomes of acutely and critically ill
patients and families and to enhance resource utilization in health
care organizations.
The Program:
- combines
advanced critical care knowledge from the physiological and psychosocial
sciences
- emphasizes
on selected theories as they relate to roles of clinical expert,
consultant, teacher, educator, and leader
- offers the
opportunity to learn from specialist in a wide range of practice
settings
- offers clinical
placements arranged in the Washington, D. C. metropolitan
area
- has part-time
and full-time options available
- is 40 credit
hours, 500 clinical hours
- prepares graduates
to take adult CCNS exam for board certification
